Live Music News and Review is one of the internet’s up and coming online music magazines dedicated to the music lover in all of us. “The First Word on the Scene,” LMN&R is a music website dedicated to talking about new music releases, great shows, tours and festivals that are coming up, sharing great shows we’ve seen, featuring some of our favorite artists and venues, and a gathering place for live music lovers. We try to focus on the experience of going to live shows, the vibe of the venues, the beauty of the locations, and the ease with which we can all travel to shows and navigate our experience within them.

As an intern, you will get to work with a variety of our staff, while working on real projects that will help us grow.
Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, lover of live music, possesses music knowledge, is creative, thoughtful, and innovative, and is comfortable with social media and online marketing.
What you will learn:
-How to create create compelling content that will be shared by influencers.
-Online marketing techniques, including: Search Engine Optimization (SEO), social media marketing, using WordPress and how to track social media and online analytics.
-Assist our Marketing Manager in building and presenting social media strategy.
-Networking skills required to solicit marketing and press coverage.
-Gain a background in the nuances and important aspects of the music industry.
What We Require:
-Attending live music shows to report on, visiting venues and profiling festivals.
-Creating content for livemusicnewsandreview.com, including articles reviewing shows, festivals and venues, as well as artist interviews and preview articles.
-Updating WordPress posts with a variety of content, as well as possible guest posting on related sites.
-Promoting articles online and via social media.
-Pro-active solicitation of media passes and online promotion.
-Marketing of launched articles.
-Background in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Music Business or other related discipline.
-Strong communication skills.
-Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
-Organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments.
-Creative and flexible.
-Familiarity with social networking sites desired, but we will also train.
-Interest in the live music scene.
-General office duties.
Details:
This is an internship. You are expected to work 15-30 hours a week. While this position has long-term potential, with many perks, such as VIP and press admission to select shows, we do not guarantee longer-term employment upon the completion of the internship period.
