Simon Says Booking July Newsletter

Summer is here, and live music is as hot as can be. Simon Says Booking has bands all over the country, and we are so pleased to be working with you all.

Black Masala is gearing up to release their new album this fall and have hired Rock Paper Scissors for an aggressive publicity campaign for all shows in that time frame. We’ve heard the cuts and seen the new video that is being prepared, and you will be blown away. We are looking to book as many shows as possible from SEP – NOV to take advantage of the buzz on this new release.

We are pleased to announce our latest signing, Tool tribute band Schism. The band is the longest running tribute to Tool, and is the only tribute band endorsed by Tool. Depending on the budget, the band can do anything from a 2-4 hour show to assembling full tribute events, to adding in multimedia, aerialists and other performers. The band is top notch, and we’re excited to be bringing them to you.

Freekbass is gearing up for a run of a few shows with Sammi Garett from Turkuaz. Their video and single together is getting great traction, and we’re looking to book a series of shows using Sammi as a featured artist with Freekbass & the Bump Assembly. Freekbass is also touring regularly, and we’re looking to set down as many shows as possible, and he often brings another singer with him, too. Check out the video for Love in your Pocket which reached over 11k views in just a couple of months. New singles and videos are about to drop.

Start Making Sense has only a couple of dates left for the entirety of 2018, and we’ll be turning our attention toward 2019 here shortly. SEP 22 in the northeast, NOV 10 and the weekend of NOV 30/DEC 1 for a possible run to the southeast. The nation’s #1 tribute to the Talking Heads is only playing a few shows this summer, but have been doing amazing numbers nationally. Check out their progress in Pollstar. Spring 2019 will see them visiting new markets, including possibly the Pacific Northwest and more.

Another new band for us is the Englishtown Project which features Michael Falzarano of New Riders of the Purple Sage, Hot Tuna and Arlo Guthrie’s touring band plus members of the Zen Tricksters and Jam Stampede, Assembly of Dust, Dead Center All Stars, and many others. The band on two set shows does one set of Marshall Tucker Band and New Riders, and then a set of the Grateful Dead. Monster one set mashup shows are also possible. Check out this feature article on the band.

John Kadlecik is continuing his improvisational guitar renaissance show- performing his solo acousti’Lectric show, as the John Kadlecik Band, in all star outfits like Golden Gate Wingmen and Fellowship of the Wing, and as a guest artist with Everyone Orchestra, Oteil and Friends, and Melvin Seals and JGB. He has let us know that he has recently done some recording with Jay Lane, Benjie Porecki and Robin Sylvester, so hopefully we’ll have new music to show you here soon! We are looking for last minute west coast solo opportunities in July, and throughout summer and into fall.

Progressive reggae artists TreeHouse! are in the midst of a never ending tour that is going to take them from coast to coast. They will be visiting new markets in the Pacific NW, California, and everywhere in between their SC home base and parts unknown. The new singles and video are getting a lot of attention. In the three weeks since it’s release, the new video for Prayer for the Day has garnered some 20k hits. Big things await this great band.
