Great Barrington, MA- The Rev Tor Band announce the release of their 7th CD Live at The Unicorn on Saturday, July 11, 2015 with a free 8pm show at The Gypsy Joynt Café in Great Barrington, MA. The CD was recorded live at Berkshire Theatre Group’s Unicorn Theatre in Stockbridge, MA in front of a sold out audience on March 20, 2015. The CD also includes a DVD recording of the night’s performance. This CD departs from the usual “jam” oriented sound of the Rev Tor band and delves more deeply into more refined and mature themes, such as family and relationships.
This concert CD relies heavily on a more acoustic sound, at the core being Tor Krautter on acoustic guitar and lead vocals, Dan Broad on bass and backing vocals, Andy Crawford on drums and backing vocals, and Ben Kohn on piano and backing vocals. The Rev Tor Band was joined by Pete Adams on pedal steal guitar, Rob Sanzone on acoustic guitar, mandolin, ukulele, and a horn section of Peter McEachern on trombone, Jamie Finegan on trumpet, and Charlie Tokarz on saxophone and clarinet. You can also hear special guest vocalist Mary Verdi on several songs. The entire project was recorded, mixed, and mastered by acclaimed producer John Roper at On Deck Sound Studios.
Since 1996 the Rev Tor Band has maintained a powerful presence on the East Coast club and festival circuits, performing in venues from Maine to Key West, Florida. In their home stomping grounds of New England, they keep a heavy performance schedule enthusiastically supported by a large following of dedicated fans.
