Rice: An American Band

Warwick, MA

rice - an American Band is steeped in Americana and are not afraid to wander into jam and rock explorations. A fluid outfit fronted vocally by Courtney Parker and Phil Simon- they are joined by Eric Engman on bass and a variety of gun slingers on axes including Steve Benson on mandolin and pedal steel, Joshua Leach and Brian DiMartino on guitar.

In their short two years together they have already been featured on festival stages including Wormtown, Strangecreek Campout, Jerry Jam, Alive and Dead, Adventure Jam and even the Redneck Olympics. The band focuses on original music written by Simon, Parker and DiMartino presently, but also incorporate covers from Bob Marley, Pink Floyd, the Flaming Lips, the Dead and more obscure artists. Expect them to jump up and down during the show, make bedroom eyes at the audience, and then there's the sweat, usually lots of sweat.

"We are so thrilled that in such a short period of time this band has taken flight. Venues and festivals alike have asked us back for new gigs, and the band is really connecting with audiences."
