Winter is Coming. Bands will not stop. Happy Holidays and thank you to everyone who has worked with us in 2017 and for the last couple of decades that we've been sending bands around the world. We could not do it without you.

ArndtWe are so pleased to announce some great signings here at Simon Says. First off, Jocelyn & Chris Arndt, an amazing full band featuring this brother sister duo. Jocelyn's voice is edgy and bluesy and reminds me of Fiona Apple, and Chris' guitar playing is raw and blistering and it feels like the band is the Alabama Shakes with Jack White on guitar. They are touring all over the US with regularity, have a single on the Billboard top 100 chart, are getting play on radio, and are hungry and ready. National tour is in January and we're seeking an odd date here and there- KS or AR of anything that could route between STL and Denver JAN 8-10 range. JAN 17 we could use a date in central CA toward the Bay area with 16 in LA and 18 in Sacramento. Anybody going to be at Sundance? We could pick up a date there if y'all are around.

SwiftIn a flurry of signings, we're so pleased to be working with Philadelphia's Swift Technique. Horny (that is, with horns.. c'mon people) and fun and funky, Swift Technique are perfect for clubs, festivals, private events, anything where you want your audience to have the best time, ever! They are taking January off but will be hitting it hard February and beyond and we are already routing dates all over the country for them. Get your technique together people, and make it Swift.

New Year's Eve! Almost all of our bands are booked for NYE with a smidge of avails including Jocelyn & Chris Arndt, and Erin Harpe and the Delta Swingers who happen to have DEC 31 avail as of this moment. The band has a couple of DEC open dates (15/16, too) and then we're working on FEB and beyond. Seeking out options for the Mid Atlantic in April and general New England and northeast plays throughout winter spring and summer. Their new album is out on Vizztone and is getting rave reviews. The CD release show is in Boston on DEC 1 at the brand new City Winery.

Big Road Erin Harpe is a hunter and gatherer. She tracks down tunes, collecting the sounds as her branded version of Delta Blues, reimagining and reworking the music. Big Road is the latest release ... The album remakes Randy Newmans addiction laden apology into a one woman show of voice and guitar guaranteed to hush the noisiest chicken shack... ~ The Alternate Root

Golden Gate Wingmen is shaking off their grounded status and planning flights for March and April right now to go with an April 8 play in Ventura CA headlining the Skull and Roses festival. Comprised of the biggest names in the genre with Jeff Chimenti on keys (Dead and Co, GD50, Ratdog and Furthur), John Kadlecik on guitar and vocals (DSO, Phil and Friends, Furthur and Oteil and Friends), Jay Lane on drums (Ratdog, Furthur, Primus, Oteil) and Reed Mathis on bass and vocals (Tea Leaf Green, Billy and the Kids, Electric Beethoven.) Currently taking avails all over to see where our flight path takes us.

The Alchemystics, the ultimate survivors, are playing a ton of shows in DEC and JAN and we're venturing further afield. Rising up like the Phoenix from the ashes, they continually reinvent themselves and bring their unique blend of reggae, soul, rock and hip hop to the fore. We're so proud of them.

Freekbass has a brand new record in the can and is utilizing Grammy winner Itaal Shur (co writer and producer of Santana and Rob Thomas' Smooth) and a Grammy winning engineer to mix the record- it's funky and tight and will bring the funk to a whole new generation. Plenty of dates avail this winter including JAN 26 where we are seeking out IL or IN options. We already have shows planned all over the map for 2018 and we'd love for you to get on board.

Treehouse! is planning 2018 as a coast to coast adventure. We've got avails in Florida in early January and March, the northeast late March and early April, and the southeast in between. The west will get theirs too this summer from late May Colorado through the west coast in June. A new album is also in the can and new videos and music will be popping here in the new year.

Start Making Sense has become the #1 Talking Heads tribute band in the country and it's easy to see why. The attention to detail and the hard work that they've put into shows has translated into a huge audience. Recent shows in Rochester NY (550 paid), Denver CO (1100 paid), and every place in between has illustrated how deep the connection is between the band and their fans. We're currently booking all of 2018 for them right now with some avails in March and beyond. The calendar is filling up quickly though so jump on it if you wanna pack your room with a huge crowd that drinks and love to dance.

Max Creek will be celebrating their 47th anniversary this Spring and we already have the Creekiversary shows planned. Almost all of their avails for JAN - April are completely set, and May begins festival season for them. New surprises are in store with some never before seen Max Creek venues and events, and visits to markets we have not had the band in some time.
LMNR Logo In the News, Lester Chambers interview, Trey Anastasio's solo acoustic dates, Heart Centered Kirtan's CD Release Party, and RIP to Malcolm Young. In the Reviews, Puddles Pity Party at the Wilbur, Widespread Panic Smash Their Tour, and Cabin Fever at the CIA.

We're seeking out new writers all the time, so please hit us at lmnandr@gmail.com with your ideas. Traffic has radically increased lately, and we have been able to garner press passes for some contributors to get to shows they never thought possible. Consider the glory!

PUBLICITY DEPARTMENT
Meet our publicity maven, Kelly Drew. Kelly is working hard with clients in all aspects of publicity and marketing.

Getting your music to stand out from the crowd takes a strong band brand, strategic planning and consistent execution. The Simon Says Publicity Department offers bands and musicians wrap-around marketing and publicity services that not only make the job of marketing your music easier, we make it more effective. We continue to offer bands traditional publicity services, most recently with clients like Steal Your Peach, Roots of Creation and Rev Tor's "Last Waltz Live." Weve also expanded to provide day-to-day band marketing implementation services, currently working with the Skatalites, Max Creek, the Alchemystics, Erin Harpe & the Delta Swingers, Lovewhip, and Rebel Alliance. The Simon Says Publicity Department is also available for comprehensive Band Branding and Marketing Plan projects. Most recently, we finished a project with the PA-based freak funk band, Dr Slothclaw, Kirtan, Fire in the Field, and are currently working with crossover tribute Steal Your Peach Band, fusing together the music of the Grateful Dead and Allman Brothers Band.

Be sure to hit up Kelly to find out how we can help you reach the next level! kelly@simonsaysbooking.com

TRIBUTE BANDS APLENTY! Box of Rain is doing really well with well attended markets and shows in PA, DC, MD and NJ. Deadbeat has New England on lock down and has some avails to end 2017 and into winter and spring of 18. Bob Marley tribute band, Duppy Conquerors, is spreading their wings and bringing Nesta's message to folks all over the northeast. The Last Waltz Live is recreating one of the most significant concerts and concert films in history, and we have an innovative plan that involves musicians from your region to help populate the cast and the audience. And we have more options for you, too including tributes to the Allman Brothers, a Dead / Allmans mashup, and tributes to David Bowie and more.

Black Masala has a new album coming out themselves and we just signed them to Frozen Harbor in Baltimore, to the National Gallery of Art garden series in July, to return to the Midwest for concert series and club shows this summer and more. Balkan meets Bangra meets Roma meets NOLA- get your funky in a crazy goulash of ethnic sounds.

Bella's Bartok won the day with the most successful funding campaign we've ever seen, hitting their first goal on the first day. The band is touring everywhere and with a retooled lineup and an evolving sound, we could not be happier. Strange Ones, they are- filling dates everywhere at once!

The Skatalites will be gearing up to bring their historic ska and reggae sound around the globe in 2018. Spring will see the band heading out on the road so if you want the true reggae, the true rock steady, the truest Jamaican music ever to be, than get up with the Skatalites.

Flux Capacitor has a few dates in FEB and MAR left, and is on tour throughout the northeast. We'd love to visit the southeast and Midwest and plan to head them to Colorado in late Spring. They are already confirming festivals and the band is sharper than ever.

We love you, we miss you, we can't wait to see you. We love working with you and we will see you on the road. Happy 2017, Happy Holidays, and welcome 2018!
