Can it possible be true that summer is almost over? Fall is around the corner, but there are still many festivals on the calendar. We are so proud of our relationship with festivals across the country, none more so than Wormtown Trading Company's festival in SEP. We have a whopping 12 bands on that show, and we could not be happier. Believe it or not, we are already starting to talk to festival promoters about 2018.

Bands are on tour!! The Skatalites, John Kadlecik Band, Flux Capacitor, Bella's Bartok, Freekbass - everyone is out touring!

The Skatalites
are almost completely done with booking the SEP and OCT tour that is heading from the Midwest to the West Coast. There is a last minute avail between Nashville and New Orleans for SEP 25 or 26. The tour ends on OCT 17 in Phoenix, but we could look at other markets in Arizona, New Mexico, or California for OCT 19-22.

Black Masala did some of their most ambitious touring ever this year with shows from Illinois to Massachusetts, and down to the Carolinas. They are anxious to get back to these places and find new places to play. We've got plans to hit North Carolina in NOV or DEC, and the Northeast sometime then, too. Their exciting blend of funk, Nola, and ethnic sounds is really unlike anything you've ever heard before. Wormtown will be their second major Massachusetts festival play, and Pennsylvania fests were plentiful this year with Jibberjazz, Musikfest, and more.

John Kadlecik Band's tour is completed for SEP, and we're looking for holiday and New Year's Eve shows for the full band, possibly. October has John on the West Coast for solo Acousti'Lectric show dates, including far northern California and southern Oregon for OCT 2-10 range. After that, there are loose plans for mid October both in the Midwest and on the West Coast. Hawaii is the end of OCT, and NOV is almost completely done (16-20 is open most likely for solo shows). December is wide open, people.

We would like to extend our warmest get well wishes to Jim Countryman of Lovewhip and the Delta Swingers. Jim suffered a serious health issue at the end of July resulting in the loss of shows, but he is on the mend and we are actively booking CD release shows for late OCT and beyond. The Delta Swingers have a brand new album popping in OCT on Vizztone records, and the preliminary samples are amazing. The calendar is wide open, so come and get 'em.

Freekbass has dates all over the map these days. October 26-28 is confirmed in Colorado, seeking OCT 24, 25 routing out that way, 29, 30, 31 in Colorado, Wyoming, or Montana. Seeking NOV 2, 3 en route to North Carolina. A holiday tour to Florida is already under way, seeking options for Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama for late DEC. We're always interested in sending him anywhere that needs some Funk!

Bella's Bartok
is perpetually on tour. Dates are available in the Southeast, Midwest, Northeast, and everywhere. A new album is being recorded in OCT for a Spring 2018 release. If you haven't seen them yet, what are you waiting for?

Start Making Sense has virtually nothing left in 2017 aside from current avails on OCT 13, NOV 16 and 18 all in the northeast and NOV 30 - DEC 2 (upper south?). We are already confirming tons of shows for them for 2018, with a trip planned to Chicago to play House of Blues on MAR 30 and coming back for street fairs in JUL. You should hit us now to book the #1 Talking Heads tribute band in the country. Oh yea, they also have Band from Mars, a tribute to David Bowie, and the amazing Insidious Rays. This family of bands is the top shelf of amazing talent.

Taj Weekes and Adowa, from St Lucia, toured every part of this great land over the summer and are itchy to bring their conscious world music and reggae to every part of America in 2018. They are an excellent option for schools, concert series, house concerts, and clubs with a finger on that positive vibe pulse.

Kwame Binea and Shakedown are one of our newest projects, and they are getting ready to tour to Florida and want dates throughout the Mid Atlantic and the Northeast. Their new album is amazing and is getting tens of thousands of views on the videos. Jimmy Cliff wrote the latest single and produced the whole album. It's funky, hard hitting, fun, and conscious.
LMNR Logo John Kadlecik's Everywhere at Once tour is in the News, and Paul McCartney launches a campaign with Omaze. Donald Fagen & the Nightflyers as well as OneRepublic are Reviewed. Roots of Creation headline Summer in the 603 III in Festival Preview. Hawks & Reed Performing Arts Center is in the Venue Spotlight, and Steve Benson is the Artist Review on supporting The Revivalists.

We're seeking out new writers all the time, so please hit us at lmnandr@gmail.com with your ideas. Traffic has radically increased lately, and we have been able to garner press passes for some contributors to get to shows they never thought possible. Consider the glory!

PUBLICITY DEPARTMENT
Meet our latest publicity maven, Kelly Drew. Kelly is working hard with clients in all aspects of publicity and marketing.

Getting your music to stand out from the crowd takes a strong band brand, strategic planning and consistent execution. The Simon Says Publicity Department offers bands and musicians wrap-around marketing and publicity services that not only make the job of marketing your music easier, we make it more effective. We continue to offer bands traditional publicity services, most recently with clients like Steal Your Peach, Roots of Creation and Rev Tor's "Last Waltz Live." We’ve also expanded to provide day-to-day band marketing implementation services, currently working with the Skatalites, Max Creek, the Alchemystics, Erin Harpe & the Delta Swingers, Lovewhip, and Rebel Alliance. The Simon Says Publicity Department is also available for comprehensive Band Branding and Marketing Plan projects. Most recently, we finished a project with the PA-based freak funk band, Dr Slothclaw, Kirtan, Fire in the Field, and are currently working with crossover tribute Steal Your Peach Band, fusing together the music of the Grateful Dead and Allman Brothers Band.

Be sure to hit up Kelly to find out how we can help you reach the next level! kelly@simonsaysbooking.com

The Alchemystics are survivors. The story and music of perseverance is beyond measure. They hit festivals, concert series, and club dates all over the Northeast this year, and have been venturing South more with plays in Connecticut, Brooklyn Bowl, and Pennsylvania. New Year's Eve is still open for them. There are select dates left in OCT (21, 27) and most of DEC.

Flux Capacitor will be touring every other month in 2018. Most of 2017 is planned, but DEC avails still exist, New Year's Eve is still open presently, and then come 2018, we will be planning full tours for FEB, APR, JUN, and beyond. Why did Bonnaroo, Peach festival, Bless the Woods, Strangecreek, Mtn Sky, and nearly every regional festival in the Northeast hire them? Because their sound is mobile, fresh, and inspiring. They just released their first live album, Spirals Vol. 1, and they are raring to go. This weekend alone, they had four festivals. There's a good reason for it.

We are seeking options for Tragedy - an all metal tribute to the Bee Gees and beyond. They are playing in Boston at the Middle East on DEC 15, and we are seeking 14 and 16 to go with it anywhere in New England or New York state.

Thank you so much for supporting live music, bands on tour, and Simon Says Booking!
